GlobeFindr Français

Privacy Policy

Last updated 17 September 2026

The short version. GlobeFindr has no accounts, no advertising, no cookies and no third-party tracking. Almost everything stays on your device. The only thing that ever reaches our server is a leaderboard score, and only if you choose a name and post one.

Who we are

GlobeFindr is operated by Axel Portalupi, a sole trader (auto-entrepreneur) registered in France. For anything in this policy, including requests about your data, write to hello@globefindr.com.

What stays on your device

The game keeps the following in your browser's local storage, or in the app's own storage on iOS. It is not sent anywhere, and clearing your browser data or deleting the app removes all of it.

The device secret never leaves your device except once, when you first post a score. It exists so that only your device can post under your name. It is not a password and it is not used for anything else.

What we receive

If you post a score

Choosing a display name and finishing a game sends the following to our leaderboard server: your display name, your random player id, your score, the date of the puzzle, and the time you submitted. On your very first submission it also sends the device secret described above.

Your display name is shown publicly on the leaderboard to anyone who plays. Choose accordingly. Do not use your full name, an email address, or anything you would not want a stranger to read.

If you create or play a multiplayer match

We store a short random match code, the settings you chose and the seed the rounds are generated from. If you post a score to a match, we store the same fields as above against that code.

If you play without choosing a name

Nothing is sent. The daily puzzle, Endless and the whole game work without ever contacting our leaderboard.

What we never collect

Legal basis and how long we keep it

Under the GDPR, we process leaderboard data on the basis of your consent, given by choosing a name and submitting a score. You can withdraw it at any time by asking us to delete your entries.

Leaderboard scores are kept while the board is running. Multiplayer matches are disposable by design and are removed once they are no longer in use. Ask us and we will delete your player record and every score attached to it.

Other companies involved

We use a small number of services to run the game. They see standard technical information such as your IP address and browser, in the ordinary course of serving a request.

We do not sell data to anyone, and we do not share it beyond what is needed to draw a map and show a leaderboard.

Your rights

If you are in the EU or the UK you can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, or stop processing it. Write to hello@globefindr.com and we will answer within 30 days. Because there are no accounts, please tell us the exact display name you used so we can find the right record. You also have the right to complain to your data protection authority; in France that is the CNIL.

Children

GlobeFindr is not directed at children under 13, and we ask that under 13s do not choose a display name or post a score. If you believe a child has posted one, write to us and we will remove it.

Reporting a name

Display names are chosen by players. If you see one that is offensive, write to hello@globefindr.com with the name and we will remove it and block the device that set it, usually within 24 hours.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect, the date at the top will change and the new version will be posted here before it takes effect.
